These torrents are using the peer-to-peer file sharing protocol called BitTorrent and it enables you to download files from people all over the world that are sharing that file or even just a part of it. You begin by searching for the file(s) that you would like to download, usually on a torrentsite, and then you download are really small file called a torrent. This torrent is then loaded in a torrentclient which reads this file and starts downloading the file you wanted in the first place.

There are a lot of clients out there, but there is one that has everything you want:

After you’ve downloaded and installed µTorrent we do have a few tips for you to optimize your experience:

1. Forward the bittorrent ports correctly from your router to your pc.There is a good site called portforward.com that can help you with this.
2. Make sure your upload speed isn’t set to the maximum upload speed of your connection, because it will seriously affect your normal surfing speed.
3. Share your file after you’re done downloading so others can keep on making use of your connection just as you used theirs.
